Area of a triangle given its vertices

If A\left(x_1, y_1\right), B\left(x_2, y_2\right) \ and \ C\left(x_3, y_3\right) are the vertices of a Δ ABC, then its area is given by

A = \dfrac{1}{2}\left[x_1\left(y_{2} - y_{3}\right) + x_2\left(y_{3} - y_{1}\right) + x_3\left(y_{1} - y_{2}\right)\right]
Where A is the area of the Δ ABC.
