Addition

When some numbers are added each of th numbers to be added is called an addend and the result obtained after addition is called the sum.

Addition without carrying

Arrange the addends order each other in the place value chart and add them from right to left.

Properties 

  1. The sum of two numbers does not change when the order of the addends is changed. This is called the order property of addition.

     Ex-

    4+3=3+4=7

  2. The sum of three or more numbers does not change ever when their grouping is changed. This is called the grouping property of addition.

    Ex-

     (3+4)+5=7+5=12

     3+(4+5)=3+9=12

  3. The sum of a number and 0 is the number itself, this is called the additive property of zero.

    Ex-

    47632+0=47632
