Understanding Elementary Shapes

Before, being able to solve the sums we need to understand certain concepts. Firstly, acute angles are angles less than a right angle. Secondly, obtuse angles are angles which are greater than a right angle but lesser than a straight angle. Thirdly, reflex angles are angles which are greater than a straight angle. Fourthly, right angle is a angle that is equal to {90$^\circ$}.

One complete revolution is equal to {360$^\circ$}. Therefore, each part is divided into {360} equal parts, where each part is called a degree.

Perpendicular lines are lines which form a right angle between them. A perpendicular bisector divides a line into two equal parts.

There are three different types of triangles :-

  • Scalene – All sides are of different lengths.
  • Equilateral – All sides and angles are equal to each other.
  • Isosceles – Two sides are equal to each other.
